Core Path Planning
Every local authority in Scotland, plus the two national park authorities, is currently drawing up a draft core path plan and going out to consultation with their proposals.
Core path plans can include routes on water, routes to water and routes alongside water, so the core path planning exercise can be of interest to canoeists and other watersports participants. To help paddlers participate in their local core path planning consultation exercises we have compiled a list of Scotland’s access authorities (local and national park authorities) and provided a web link to the most relevant page on each of their websites. Highland Council is divided into 6 access authority areas and each of these areas will have its own core path plan.
We hope this page will help you to find out what is happening in your area and enable you to get involved in your local core path planning process. If you have any comment on any of the links provided below, please e-mail
