SCA Affiliated Clubs

Changes to SCA Club Affiliation from 1st January 2012

All clubs affiliating to the SCA with effect from 1st January 2012 (clubs whose current affiliation expires on or after 31st December 2011 or clubs who are overdue and renewing after 1st January 2012) are required to submit an up to date list of club members to the SCA and maintain this list throughout the year.In March 2011, information was sent to all SCA Affiliated clubs about the affiliation process from 1st January 2012. A follow up letter was sent in September 2011. Data Protection Guidance (updated Jan 2012) was also sent.  A letter about affiliation charges in 2013 was sent in September 2011.

• Club details listed in the SCA Yearbook and on the SCA Website
• Link to your Club website
• Right to organise events (with permission) under the auspices of the SCA
• Copy of the SCA Annual Yearbook
• Scottish Paddler, official magazine of SCA every quarter
• Certificate of Affiliation and Insurance
• Support and professional advice from SCA Staff
• Discipline specific advice from volunteers serving on SCA Committees
• Advice and help with paddling related queries via the SCA Office
• Help and advice on Child Protection and the processing of the relevant forms

How do clubs affiliate to the SCA?

• Have a consitution that fits with the SCA's aims (read more)
• Submit a suitable child protection policy and nominate a child protection officer (if there are members under 18 years old)  - see child protection for further guidance
• Pay the annual affiliation fee - currently £50
• Complete the application form  (pdf)
• Submit a full list of club members - membership template , template instructions , Data Protection Guidance
• Receive confirmation via the SCA office that the affiliation has been accepted
