I was a slalom paddler from the mid to late sixties until the millenium. More likely to be found these days involved in slalom administration, running events at Grandtully and down South, or on river banks at home and abroad watching our son Tim racing C2 for the GB slalom team.

Never a slalom paddler but have participated in other sports at club, national and international level, I’m usually to be found sporting a headset by the side of the course judging at races, or at the side of a pool conditioning coaching paddlers.

I have two sons who are almost fanatical about paddlesports including Slalom. This has dragged me into initially organising races and from there into timing and further effort. Currently I continue to work with the National Timing Team. I was also elected to the BCU Slalom committee last year and have had responsibility over the last year for developing a forward looking national slalom strategy. I will be standing again for the BCU Slalom committee for another term later this year. In Scotland I maintain the Scottish Paddler ranking list which can be found on the SCA website. My personal experience in boats is much more with engines attached however I did some flat water paddling in the past depths of the last century.

I’m not a paddler, far less slalom paddler but agreed to join the Committee and subsequently find myself as Pan Celtic Team Manager! Usually known to people as “Bradley’s mum”.

I’m a Slalom C1 paddler who has competed since 1979. I have recently been more involved with Coaching as my own children have become interested in paddling. I assist my wife Jane Wilson, running Strathallan Canoe Club and have been funding and managing the infrastructure establishment at Alva with Johnny Brown. Keen to add something back to the sport in return for all the fun I have had.

As a family we got involved with paddling through our local club Selkirk. This is where our son and daughter got involved with canoe slalom. Although our son has since stopped our daughter is still doing well paddling in the premier division. We assist at most events we are at if required. Nationally my wife Leanne judges and I am involved with the timing team. We really enjoy being involved with the sport of canoe slalom, especially supporting the youngsters, and have been on the committee for a few years now. In our own free time we like to get out in our sea kayaks, biking and hillwalking.

I have been involved with Slalom for the past 4 years through my sons Russell and Graeme.  As a member of Kyle Kayak Club I actively encourage new members to have a go at Slalom as I believe it is one of the best ways to learn good skills within a safe environment.  As for my own paddling skills, best to say nothing.
