The Recreational Committee are a group of volunteers working for the interests of recreational paddlers in Scotland.  The aim of the committee is to 'look out for the interests' of recreational paddlers.  Anyone is free to join the committe, we need new members to help in the activities that we have planned.

 Meeting Dates

The committee corresponds, primarily through an email group. There are occassional meetings when these are deemed necessary.

Wet West Paddlefest Weekend - a tribute to Andy Jackson

A history of recreational white water paddling in Scotland

We are currently researching an 'outline history' of noteable events in Scottish Paddling.  If you have any useful information, or are interested, please contact Neil Farmer.

The group are trying to collate a record of 'what has been happening in Scottish Kayaking/Canoeing' over the years, details of significant events and any other interesting historical stories.  It is accepted that we may never posses a 'definitive record' of who ran what and when, but it would be very interesting to discover, for example, when the 'Falls if Leny' were first being paddled or when the Etive was first run.

If you have any information on 'early descents' in Scotland, please contact Neil Farmer.
