Andy Jackson Fund Annual Report

Oct 26, 2023

Following their 2023 AGM, the Andy Jackson Fund for Access have published their annual report.

Highlights from the report:

  • Approved £415.67 for purchase of equipment to help disabled paddlers for the Willowgate Centre.  This was paid in April 2023.  Richie reports use of this equipment recently.

  • Approved and paid £430 to remove trees from the Nith.   This was an appreciated removal and might be a useful model to follow for future projects.

  • Big Paddle Cleanup: funded £1745 worth of litter cleaning kit.  The equipment  was used successfully around the country and Richie reports it being much appreciated.

  • Incomes comes from sales of the guidebooks (Scottish White Water, Paddle Scotland) the app (whitewater.guide) and donations, many from the legacy of Robert Eggleston.

  • The Andy Jackson Fund welcomed new trustee Richie Neill.

Applications are now open for future projects.

Projects we would like to fund include signage, aiding discussion with landowners and lobbying, environmental and disabled access, improving paths and steps onto rivers and removing blockages such as trees.
