Important information for Club Safeguarding officers:

New Training opportunity: Low Level Concerns 


In line with sector best practice, SCA is updating its procedure for responding to child wellbeing and protection concerns. This will include new guidance relating to ‘Low Level Concerns’. The Aim of the course is to provide an understanding of the nature of low level concerns and the importance of managing them appropriately and effectively within a sporting context.


The course will be delivered by Children 1st on 7th November at 1800hrs. It is recommended for all Club Safeguarding Officers.

New Training opportunity: Child Wellbeing and Protection Officer Training


CWPO course is mandatory for all club Safeguarding Officers. If you have not previously attended this training or it was more than 3 years ago, please book a course soon.

We have arranged a CWPO course for Wednesday 22nd November (6-9pm) online.

Please note a prerequisite of attending CWPO training is the Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport course. If you have not yet completed this, course dates for CWPS and CWPO can be found here or from other governing bodies here.

Mental Health First Aid Training - 20th May 2024 at Glenmore Lodge AWARD IN FIRST AID FOR MENTAL HEALTH AT SCQF LEVEL 5 (1 day course) We are delighted to be able to offer you the opportunity to complete Mental Health First Aid Training at Glenmore Lodge Monday 20th May 0830 - 1730. This will be run by Noush Duffy and Mo Samson - two experienced paddlesport coaches, Mental Health First Aid trainers and part of the Paddle Scotland Equality Groups. This Paddle Scotland course is being offered at the subsidised rate of £75 (inc. lunch and refreshments for the day). Bookings close 11 May (this has been extended) . Sunday evening accommodation at Glenmore Lodge is also available to book via the link below. We are passionate about supporting paddlesport coaches to increase knowledge in this area so you can better support the people you work with. We'd love it if you could attend.
