Facebook live with Brian Wilson - Author of "Blazing Paddles"!

Aug 24, 2020

Join us for another Facebook Live at 7pm on September the 16th!

This time we will be talking to Brian Wilson, author of Blazing Paddles, the book which chronicles his epic paddle around the Scottish Coast, first released in 1988.

This book perfectly describes the adventure of Sea Kayaking in Scotland and also captures environmental issues of the time, many of which are still pressing today.

Join us to hear Brian’s reflections about the journey 30 years on as well as to ask your own questions of Brian.

If you haven’t read Blazing paddles, the newly released version including a new foreword can can be bought or downloaded here:

Alone in his kayak, Brian Wilson sets off from the Solway Firth on a 2000-mile odyssey around Scotland’s extraordinarily varied coastline of cliffscapes, unspoiled shorelines, treacherous sea passages and beautiful Hebridean islands. Adventure is there aplenty as he battles with whirlpools, heavy seas and hypothermia and survives a close encounter with a killer whale.”

This is a must-watch event for keen paddlers, please share with those who may be interested and come along to hear about this piece of Scottish paddling inspiration.
