New Mentors All Set

New Mentor Training Programme a Great Success!

A new group of mentors have been trained over the last few months through a new SCA programme. Following an open invite earlier in the summer, a group of SCA members from across the country (Ardnamurchan to Kirkcaldy and Aviemore to Castle Douglas!) attended 1 full day followed by 3 evening training sessions between July and November. In between they have been busy putting their new skills to use by mentoring other paddlers in their areas.

The group received expert input from Doug MacDonald, SCA Coach and Pathway Developer and chartered mentor. The programme concluded with a live mentoring session with a range of mentees from across other sports to prove that being a good mentor doesn’t require technical knowledge of the sport.
