Statement on the Easing of Lockdown Restrictions

Jul 09, 2020

SCA statement regarding the First Minister’s announcement 9th July 2020 - Phase 3

SCA has noted the announcement of the move into Phase 3 by the First Minister earlier today.  The start of Phase 3 is an indication that the lockdown measures we have all been subject to have been having an effect on the containment of COVID-19.  The virus is being suppressed and there now is a focus on containing sporadic outbreaks.

Phase 3 will increase the range of paddlesport activities that can take place and the SCA is clarifying the details with sportscotland of what this will mean for all of us.  As before, we will make our guidance available as soon as it has been reviewed and approved by sportscotland.

We will continue to work closely with those in other outdoor sports governing bodies and with sportscotland through this and the future phases of the Government Routemap to see how and when we can all return to our sport in a responsible way - staying safe, protecting others and saving lives.
