Updated Paddlesport Guidance - 9th October

Oct 09, 2020
Following the First Minister’s announcement on 7th October the SCA updated the Paddlesport Guidance for Phase 3 with the addition of Appendix G containing specific guidance for the following areas:
  • NHS Ayrshire & Arran (North, South and East Ayrshire)
  • NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (Glasgow, East and West Dunbartonshire, Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire, and Inverclyde)
  • NHS Lanarkshire (North and South Lanarkshire)
  • NHS Forth Valley (Clackmannanshire, Stirling and Falkirk)
  • NHS Lothian (Edinburgh, East, West and Mid-Lothian)
The restrictions will apply to these NHS Health Boards and local authorities from 0001hrs Saturday 10 October until midnight Sunday 25th October 2020 but be aware these may change if infection rates increase in other parts of Scotland.

If you reside in, or your paddling activity involves going to any of the areas covered by local measures, you must read Appendix G which supersedes other sections of this guidance for these areas.

We continue to work with sportscotland, the Scottish Government and other governing bodies of sport to ensure that sport and physical activity is delivered safely in line with the guidelines.

Public health and wellbeing remains the most pressing priority and the SCA is extremely grateful to paddlers for continuing to follow the government guidance and for helping to suppress the spread of the virus.

Recent figures serve as a timely reminder that the virus has not gone away and we all have a responsibility to do what we can to help suppress the spread of the virus at this time. With that in mind, we encourage everyone to download the Protect Scotland app.
