Wires on the Averon!

Mar 11, 2020

Warning!  Tensioned steel cables across the Averon River (Alness) around half way down the river after the castle and foot bridges.

There are currently 2 fishing antennas which are 400 metres apart, on the Averon River.  They are part of a survey by the University of Stirling.   This may cause obstruction and/or harm if you are paddling nearby - please be careful.

This monitoring is expected to take place up until June 2020.  You can find the coordinates of the wires here.

If you have any questions regarding access, please get in contact with your local Access Advisor.  You can view them all here.

We would like to encourage everyone to paddle safely!
