Committee and Board Weekend 2020

Saturday 29th February saw the most recent Committee and Board Weekend take place at Fordell Firs, Scouts Scotland HQ.

33 people comprising Committee Members, Directors and Staff met to discuss the future direction of the SCA and the development of the next long term plan for paddlesport in Scotland.  It was great to get people together from different disciplines and backgrounds to discuss common interests and how we can all work together to get more people padding more often.

Gary Entrican, Equality Group Member said: "This was my first meeting and I was made to feel very welcome by everyone.  A fantastic weekend and I learned so much about the SCA.  I'm looking forward to new equality and inclusion initiatives for the 2021 - 2025 Strategic Plan."

Poppy Croal McKenzie, Regional Officer - Lothians said: "A fantastic weekend of People coming together to share ideas about how to improve our sport for the future."

Habbi Liton, SCA Marketing and Engagement Officer: "Having just taken up this role and joining the SCA staff team from a non-paddlesport background, it was fantastic meeting volunteers from all corners of the Scottish paddlesport community - the passion everyone has really shows."

We want to thank everyone who came along to listen to each other and share their views - we hope you had a great time!

If you want to play a part in the development and running of the SCA and its activities going forward, keep an eye out for advertised committee and board vacancies in Scottish Paddler and via our social media.
