Covid Success Story!

Jun 16, 2020

All over Scotland paddlesport instructors have had to adapt to make it through lockdown. Some have become delivery drivers, some started online companies, whilst Jonny turned his hand to woodwork. He set up Wood4Nature, selling bee hotels, bird boxes and feeders made of disused pallets through Facebook and Etsy.  This provided him with some structure to the day, a source of income but more importantly he hopes it has helped people connect with nature in their gardens.  He has sold around 150 items and the dream is that it has ignited a curiosity for nature around peoples homes which will transfer further afield once we are allowed to travel more.

He has received lots of positive responses from people saying how much they have enjoyed watching the animals on their feeders, so if nothing else it has provided a bit of excitement and fun though lockdown.

Jonny is now looking forward to his next venture, setting up a company aiming to teach people the outdoor skills required to be self-sufficient on their own paddling and mountaineering adventures.
