Paddlesport Providers, Coaches and Centres Lockdown Virtual meet – 9th June 2020

On 25th May, the Scottish Canoe Association hosted their third online Paddlesport Providers, Coaches and Centres Lockdown Virtual meet. 45 providers of paddlesport activity joined together as a community to share ideas and thoughts about the current COVID-19 situation. Invested in supporting each other and in getting our sector back up and running, responsibly and in a unified fashion.

It was a diverse group of people with representation at all levels across the sector, including Tourism, Outdoor Learning/Education, Coach/Leader Education, HE/FE, Charitable Trusts, Trade, Scouts, and a number of Freelance coaches, leaders and guide who work across all of these sectors.  The group representing a significant proportion of providers across Scotland.

Join 110 other Scottish providers in our Facebook Group Scottish Paddlesport Providers in Covid-19 Together.  This is a closed Facebook group as a safe space to share ideas, thoughts and challenges and as a conduit to communicate with each other moving forwards. 

To help engage and support the community we have been running a frequent, regular and popular series of online webinars, virtual classrooms, and general interest talks. Please get in touch if you would like to run something with us.

Mental Health First Aid Training - 20th May 2024 at Glenmore Lodge AWARD IN FIRST AID FOR MENTAL HEALTH AT SCQF LEVEL 5 (1 day course) We are delighted to be able to offer you the opportunity to complete Mental Health First Aid Training at Glenmore Lodge Monday 20th May 0830 - 1730. This will be run by Noush Duffy and Mo Samson - two experienced paddlesport coaches, Mental Health First Aid trainers and part of the Paddle Scotland Equality Groups. This Paddle Scotland course is being offered at the subsidised rate of £75 (inc. lunch and refreshments for the day). Bookings close 5 May . Sunday evening accommodation at Glenmore Lodge is also available to book via the link below. We are passionate about supporting paddlesport coaches to increase knowledge in this area so you can better support the people you work with. We'd love it if you could attend.
